Aging 2024

About Conference

The 3rd Global Conference on Aging and Gerontology is independently organized by Conference Series and held on July 25-26, 2024 as a Webinar. Our goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused on a wide range of aging-related research work, to foster learning, and to provoke conversations that matter. This conference mainly focuses on Accumulating worldwide research on Aging and Gerontology.

Aging can be defined as the time-related deterioration of the physiological functions necessary for survival and fertility. Characteristics of aging, distinct from diseases caused by aging (such as cancer and heart disease), affect all individuals of a species.
In humans, aging refers to the accumulation of changes in a person over time and can encompass physical, psychological, and social changes. For example, reaction time can slow down with age, while memories and general knowledge usually increase. Aging increases people's risk of diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and many others. Of the approximately 150,000 people who die each day worldwide, approximately two-thirds die of age-related causes.

Scientific Sessions

1. Biological Aging

This type of aging is experienced by most people; because it relates in different ways, the human body naturally changes over time. For example, age-related changes in the immune system make it harder to fight infections and viruses. Biological aging can also affect digestion, the spine, joints, vital organs, and other parts that facilitate movement and daily activities. Biological problems can also affect hearing, vision, and oral health.

2. Psychological Aging

This type of aging is largely related to behavior, but it also includes general perception and reactions to the immediate environment. Psychological aging is related to changes in the brain and, in some cases, underlying psychological issues or changes in cognitive capabilities that could affect problem solving, emotions, and subjective reactions to situations.

3. Social Aging

Social aging refers to how social habits and behaviors change over time. It also includes the individual’s role in relation to society as a whole and people in his or her age group. This type of aging is measured, in part, by how an individual is expected to behave in interactions with others based on social norms.

4. Cellular Aging

A cell can replicate about 50 times before the genetic material can no longer be copied accurately. This replication failure is referred to as cellular senescence during which the cell loses its functional characteristics. The accumulation of senescent cells is the hallmark of cellular aging, which in turn translates to biological aging.

5. Hormonal Aging

Hormones are also broken down (metabolized) more slowly. Other hormones control many of the organs that produce hormones. Aging also changes this process. For example, an endocrine tissue may produce less of its hormone than it did at a younger age, or it may produce the same amount at a slower rate.

6. Accumulative Damage

Aging caused by accumulative damage is about the external factors that can build up over time. Exposure to toxins, UV radiation, unhealthy foods, and pollution are just some of the things that can take a toll on the body.

7. Metabolic Aging

As you go about your day, your cells are constantly turning food into energy, which produces by-products some of which can be harmful to the body. The process of metabolization, while essential, can cause progressive damage to cells, a phenomenon referred to as metabolic aging.

Market Analysis

Global Market Analysis of Aging and Gerontology :

Aging is defined as the state of being where the body's functioning gradually slows down.

From previous analysis, it is found that the older adults were aging healthily and systematically and the following generation may also age healthily.

From the analysis, it is estimated that the older person's growth rate will be increased much faster by 2030.

The aging market is expected to have healthy growth over the period with the increase of the older adult population and their care management services.

North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and MEA are considered as key regional markets for aging and gerontology.

The aging market is expected to show a positive market trend with a value of US$ 79.5 Billion by 2024 with a growing CAGR of 7.98% during 2019-2024.

North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific hold a market share of up to 60%.
